Gillian MacLaren Jacobs

Gillian MacLaren Jacobs, born on the 19th of October, 1982, is an American actress. She is well-known for her performances as Britta Perry in the NBC comedy series Community (2009-2015), Mickey Dobbs on the Netflix romantic comedy series Love (2016-2018) as well as Atom Eve on the Amazon animated series Invincible (2021). Mimi Rose Howard played a regular part in the fourth season of the HBO comedy series Girls (2012 to 2017). Gillian MacLaren Jacobs, was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on October 19, 1982. Martina Magenau Jacobs is her mother and works at Carnegie Mellon University in alumni relations. Her father, William F. Jacobs Jr. was an investment banker. Her father William F. Jacobs Jr. passed away in 2013. She was born in Mt. Lebanon, Pennsylvania. Her family owned the Erie Brewing Company (not to be confused with the subsequent brewery of the identical name) in which her grandfather, John Martin Magenau Jr. was the president and CEO until the company closed in 1978.Jacobs began her studies in acting at the age of 4 and was a student in weekend classes at the Pittsburgh Playhouse while growing up. She performed regularly at the Pittsburgh Public Theater. This gave her the opportunity to perform in Titania's production of A Midsummer Night's Dream. After graduation from Mt. Lebanon High School in 2000, she moved to New York City to attend the Juilliard School, where she was awarded a BFA degree in 2004.
