Thora Birch

 Thora Birch was born March 11 in 1982. She is an American producer, actress, and director. In 1988, she made her film debut in the film Purple People Eater. For the role, she was awarded an Young Artist Award as "Best Young Actress Under Nine Years of Age". Birch was a child-star who appeared in films like All I Want For Christmas (1991) as well as the Patriot Games(1992), Hocus Pocus (1993), Monkey Trouble (94), Now and Then (1995), and Alaska (1996). She received a Young Artistic Award for "Best Young Actress Under Nine Years of Age." In 1999, Birch played Jane Burnham in American Beauty. This film resulted in a BAFTA nomination. After that, she starred in Ghost World (2001) as Enid. She was nominated for the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress. In 2003, Birch received an Emmy Award nomination for her performance as the lead character in Homeless to Harvard The Liz Murray Story. Birch also starred on Dungeons & Dragons (2000) (2001), The Hole (2004), Silver City (2004), Dark Corners (2006) and Winter of Frozen Dreams (2009). Birch played the role of Whisperer Mary/Gamma during season 10 of The Walking Dead (2019-202). Birch was the oldest of the children born to Jack Birch (and Carol Connors) in Los Angeles. Birch was born in Los Angeles, and her family's ancestral surname was Biersch is of German-Jewish, Scandinavian, French-Canadian and Italian ancestry.  Her name, Thora originates from the Norse god of thunder and lightning "Thor" which could have been her name, had she been a boy. Kian Bolt Birch is her younger brother. Both of her parents played actors in adult films , and also appeared in Deep Throat. Based on their own experiences in the entertainment industry, they were reluctant to encourage her, but they were persuaded to show her photo to agents through a babysitter who observed her imitation of commercials. Birch received her first major break at four, when the babysitter took her to a successful audition for an Quaker Oats commercial.
