Jessica Steen
Canadian actor
Jessica Steen can be seen on television and in films. Her most famous work is
for her appearances on Captain Power and the Soldiers of the Future as well as
Earth 2, Armageddon and Left Behind World at War in addition to NCIS,
Flashpoint, and the CBC series Heartland. Jessica Steen was the daughter of
Joanna Noyes (an actress) and Jan Steen (an actor and director). She is
Scottish and Dutch. Steen along with her professional career as an entertainer,
is an environmentalist and an advocate of animal rights. She is a supporter of
David Suzuki, the World Society for the Protection of Animals and the Western
Canadian Wilderness Committee, as well as other organizations. She is a
certified diver and has learned a variety of circus arts like stilt-walking and
fire-twirling. At the age of eight, Steen was cast in her first role in the
Canadian children's show The Sun runners, co-starring alongside her mother.
Tracy Gordon was her character in Young Again. She was the daughter of Lindsay
Wagner's character. In 1987 she was the sole female regular on the syndicated
television series Captain Power as well as the Soldiers of the Future, that ran
for one year. In 1988, she received the Gemini Award for her performance in the
Captain Power episode "Judgment". In 1987, Steen played Tracy Steel
grave on THE WISEGUY. In 1989, Steen broke onto the big screen when she starred
in the film musical Sing.
